Maharram Zulfugarli, head of ACSDA Election Headquarter opening the event with preamble noted that the Association organized monitoring of municipal election with participation of more than 300 local and foreign observers in the whole of Azerbaijani territory in December, 2004 and carried out an “exit-poll” investigation...

“ELS” Independent Research Centre and Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan are completely ready to conduct “exit-poll” and “quick-count” researches in connection with presidential elections to be held on October 15. Therefore all the preparation works for conducting the research are finished. All documents and equipment necessary for “exit-poll” and “quick-count” researches has been prepared and sent to the stations where the researches are to be held.

Members of OSCE observation mission visited Saatli office of ACSDA and got acquainted with the activity of regional representation of the Association concerning presidential elections.
The observation mission has been informed about ACSDA to observe the elections at all the polling stations of the country and to hold “exit-poll”, “quick-count” researches at 800 stations together with “ELS” organization. The guests also got acquainted with the election materials printed by ACSDA.

ACSDA Election headquarters started trainings for observers of Absheron,Sumgayit and Baku regions after completing trainings for observers in 12 regional centers of the Republic for the coming Presidential elections. During the trainings to be held on October 4-12, 2008 the observers will be presented folders containing “Monitoring of presidential elections 2008. ACSDA Election Headquarters prepared Memory book and materials necessary for elections.

ACSDA presented monitoring results for one month held in Mass Media concerning presidential elections, APA reports. The monitoring will be conducted till the election date. Monitoring covers the activity of 7 TV channels, and 8 daily newspapers.During the past time generally 327 information was presented on TV channels concerning elections, of them 295 were official and general information concerning international missions and monitoring of election process, 17 talk-shows, round tables and 105 information about candidates and political advertisements.

The Head of the Election Headquarters of ACSDA Maharram Zulfugarli met with the presidential candidate I.Agazadeh. I. Agazadeh expressed his opinion on survey held by ELS organization cooperating with ACSDA, presented information on processing of election campaign, meetings, and election and informed the representative of the ACSDA with the campaign materials.
