Details of secret negotiations of Azerbaijani opposition on establishment of wide coalition become known
Details of secret negotiations of Azerbaijani opposition on establishment of wide coalition become knownThe details of the secret negotiations, conducted by the oppositional Democratic Party of Azerbaijan on the creation of the wide coalition of opposition, became known. “We, earlier than all, proposed the idea of the co-operation of the opposition of Azerbaijan within the wider framework. Preliminary negotiations were conducted with Musavat Party”, and after their agreement, we divided the work,” chairman of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, Sardar Jalaloglu, told TrendNews on 22 October.
Musavat Party considers possible the integration and joint activity of both political organizations represented in the Center for Opposition Co-operation and other political organizations.
Jalaloglu said that with the leader of Musavat Party Isa Gambar, they decided that Jalaloglu will hold negotiations with the leadership of Classic Popular Front Party and Liberal Party for the co-operation of opposition. “After this we met individually, and, after discussing idea, reached a common decision,” he added. “The positive results of the negotiations were discussed with Isa Gambar. But two weeks later, Musavat makes a new initiative, I do not understand anything in these games,” Jalaloglu.
The chairman of the Democratic Party said that this type of the intricate attitude will not bring any benefit to Azeri people, including the forces united around this idea. “We conducted full consideration of the questions, raised now. Arif Hajili appeared after the completion of the first round of talks,” added the chairman of DPA.
According to Jalaloglu, Musavat’s appropriating idea on the creation of the wider coalition of opposition, made by DPA already by the presidential elections, can bring damage to common matter. “Another matter is if the discussion deals with the entirely new initiative. But, if the discussion deals with the new structure, which we will create together with the political movements, represented in the Center for Opposition Co-operation, and also with DPA, Azerbaijan National Independence Party and Classic Popular Front Party. We discussed this idea with Gambar, and divided functions,” Jalaloglu said.
“At Jalaloglu’s initiative, the information on our discussions to establish wider co-operation of opposition was not intended to be released to press,” Mirmahmud Miralioglu, chairman of Classic Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, said on 22 October.
He said that the opinions on wider co-operation of opposition were supported then and now. “In our opinion, in this question it is necessary to fight not for the copyrights, but to reach integration. Work division on this purpose was held even long before the elections. The process continues today as well,” said the party chairman.
This is not the question that was discussed by Musavat’s board two days ago, Miralioglu said. “This is the question that was long ago included in the agenda and the discussions still continue,” he added.
Miralioglu believes in the wider co-operation of opposition, regardless of who made the idea. “Even if some functionary is not able to control his/her emotions, we must be higher than this. If we are not able to reach this, others must make this step,” Miralioglu stated.
“After the leading political forces in the country made a decision on non-participation in the presidential elections, the issue on cooperation amongst them has become more actual,” Isa Gambar, the Leader of the opposition Musavat party, told Trend News on 22 October.
Gambar stated that Musavat carried out consultations on the issue with many parties. “The process is being continued now. The consultations resulted in the cooperation amongst political forces, which have principal opposition positions on problems and bale to form a single position,” Gambar said.
The extension of the cooperation is real enough. Musavat considers significant the principal position and assessment of all the possible versions,” Gambar added. /Trend/
